Good chocolate, but like everyone else says - not really a museum

It is not a real museum, just a lot of things about chocolate arranged together in a cafe. But it is worth a visit, they serve good chocolate and they are just in the middle of Old Havana... so, why not visiting it? :)

Since cocoa beans are grown in Cuba (and I went to a plantation in Baracoa to see the process) one expects the chocolate to be amazing. It is not. The chocolate drinks are very good (though too rich for my taste) but the individual chocolates are nice but a little grainy and very sweet to suit the local taste. It... More

We stopped here to get a snack and to get out of the heat. The great smell of chocolate hits you immediately. We got a cold chocolate milk and a hot chocolate. We also bought a bunch of small milk chocolate pieces and dark chocolate bars to bring home. It was very easy to find from the cruise ship terminal.

A quiet little corner with some of the best cold chocolate anywhere. The hot chocolate was very good as well. watching the chocolate being mixed was interesting and led to us sampling their chocolate which was excellent.

Do not miss this accidental discovery: for 1 CUC, you can get delicious and thick hot chocolate to take away or enjoy outside. It's like melted chocolate and it's as good as Angelina's famous hot chocolate in Paris. (and I know what I'm talking about because that's where I live). It was so delicious I had to come back for... My husband and I just decided to stop in here on a whim. I ordered a hot chocolate and my husband ordered a cold glass of chocolate (essentially chocolate milk) and two truffles. While they didn't have my truffle, they had something similar (a truffle with Havana rum and coffee) and it was DELICIOUS. My preference for the drinks was... More

Gives a brief history of chocolate processing in Cuba, not really a museum. Well worth the wait, the hot chocolate was like drinking a chocolate bar, heavenly! Extremely reasonable, bought a variety to bring home.......never made it. Unfortunately, Cuban chocolate is not available at the duty free or at the resorts in Cayo Coco.

Worth it for the fun of being tantalised by the amazingly tempting range of chocolates on the menu, only to find that the choice is limited to two varieties. At least that's how it was on the day my friend and I went. It's also worth it because it's in Calle Mercaderes and that is a wonderful street to explore.... More

This is a great little museum on the history of chocolate making in cuba, featuring some static displays, a little cafe and a shop to buy their specialty chocolates. It's a good 1/2 hour stop on your way to other things, topped off with a couple of tasty treats from the store.

I wouldn't consider this a museum, but it is a cute cafe. We bought a few truffles and enjoyed them.
