Maybe I chose the wrong night but the place was stuffed with groups of tourists sitting on stiff chairs, with nary a Cuban in sight. Music was good, drinks were good but the dancing-floor was tiny so most dancing took place on the narrow balcony....More

If you want to enjoy music drinks and watching people, go there. There are often shows during daytime but this best time to go is in the evening. Admittance fee 1 CUC. Real Cuban Son. And the drinks are not expensive. Beautiful building and nice...More

hi read your review with interest going to santiago Jan 21-28 staying at the club amigo carisol . wanted to do a day and night trip to santiago proper going to cuba music venue . they say "Casa de la trova" is the place to go 1. where else would u go , name and do u have address , cover, etc 2. what is the cover charge at "casa de la trova" some say 5 cuc some 10 cuc? 3. assume they serve crystal beer is it $1 cuc or is it more? did u stay in a casa or hotel. I was reading about the hotel Casa granda in the advertising for the hotel it says its 20 minutes walk yet the review say noise a problem . do u know how far casa granda is from casa de la trova thank u
