A nice short jaunt from Santiago and a great place to see the Sierra Maestra. You can see the ocean at Siboney Beach from up there.

Great day trip from Santiago. Nice to leave the bags at our casa and hit La Gran Piedra. Climb was a bad mother, the views from the top were great, the descent was nuts. Go jump in the ocean down at Siboney after.

To reach the top of la Gran Piedra you have to climb 459 steps, carved in the stone most of them, there you will find a natural viewpoint with stunning visual, an environment that extends for tens of kilometers, it is was a beautiful experience.

A great place! A viewpoint where you can see the mountain range surrounding Santiago and the Carribbean. It is not very far from the city, a 40 min taxi ride, so it´s a good excursion even for the lazy city-lover, even though you have to...More
