Interesting little museum giving you a flavor of why Curacao and Willemstad are important. Some interesting artifacts and a couple of videos. As you make your way up the building the exhibits get newer, finishing with the current navy and coastguard presence on the top floor. Nothing special, nothing amazing, but not a bad little museum to keep out of... More

This museum provides a very interesting and clear picture of the reason why the slave trade prospered in the Caribbean and role that Dutch trading companies played in the business of human trafficking a long time ago.

This is a small museum, it gives a view on the local history focussing on the Maritime aspects. Exhibits are nicely present with good explanations. Not a vast collection.

A small but well organised museum about the (maritime) history of Curacao going back to Dutch West Indies Company (WIC) up to modern times. The museum is also well worth a visit for kids and teens.

This is an historic building with a great story. They have charted the maritime history of Curacao. Very enjoyable and affordable museum visit... You have to walk across a small bridge which is a great photo op.

So far the best and most interesting museum on this island. Two floors of Curacao's maritime history and some history of the slave trade. A nice museum to visit if you want to learn more about Curacao!

Although I was poorly welcomed, because I arrived at the 15:15 and the lady at the entrance told me she is about to close to settle her cashier, I had a wonderful tour by myself. A Very beautiful museum experience which I recommend every visitor. Sadly enough I couldn't take along any souvenir as a gift, but I took some... More
