It might be possible to take a tour, but our guide said these were working government office buildings that included a reception hall, etc. We only stood on the outside in the hot sun and stared at them. If you are interested in colonial architecture,...More

Nothing special. Lots of tourists. Backyard needs renovation. Look, take a picture, go. Don' waste time here.

This is another great example of the restoration of the historical buildings you will see all over the sections of Willemstad. Many of the buildings were originally white but the reflection in this hot climate was blinding. The government decided to paint the buildings colorful...More

Beautiful building with refreshing colour. There is an officer at the front but does not stop you. No charge to walk through the gate. Pictures are allowed. There is a museum near the back but it's not free. There is a charge. Nothing really memorable...More

Fort Amsterdam is of historic significance and as in yesteryears remains the seat of government. It houses several government offices including the Governor's office. Inside lining the square are the offices and a cathedral with a cannon ball embedded on the wall!

Not.much to see at fort Amsterdam. Nowadays it's an government building which means you cannot go inside. The outer wall is nice and the courtyard too. At some moments the chapel is open to visitors. The fort is situated right at the pontjes brug.

While visiting Willemstad we walked arround a lot and slept in two different hotels, before and after our cruise. We did visit the fort, but only from the outside this time.
