This waterfall was stunning, and on our tour was called the Habiscus Waterfall (I think!). I went into the water at the base of the waterfall and although it was a bit refreshing shall we say, it was absolutely stunning. It was a bit hit and miss with the rock below foot though, as of course it’s a natural setting so there are loose, uneven and sloppy rock everywhere! There’s a viewing point as well for those with limited mobility or for those who would rather not climb down the 70ish steps to reach it.

This is one of the easiest waterfall to reach in Dominica and quite picturesque. It is on the way to the majority of other natural attractions of the island, so worth visiting

In the interior of Dominica lays this beauty. A walk from the road and down some steps will bring you to the spectacular view.

Quite nice falls, similar to the Emerald pool. Very easy access. But you have to count with a small entrance fee - 3 ECS,because it’s now “private” property of some local family.

Jacko Falls is just down the road from Spanny Falls and close to Emerald Pool. Easy to find and easy to walk to. The trail is maintained very-well. I don't know if cruise ship passengers visit this falls because the day we were there, no ships were in port so we had the place to ourselves. The walk to the falls takes about five minutes. The falls are gorgeous, among the prettiest we've seen. We sat there for hours just relaxing in the water and watching the sisserou parrots flying overhead. Jacko Falls has the feel of a big tourist stop because of the improvements, but this is definitely one that's worth the visit. I would do Jacko before Emerald Pool.

Had a refreshing dip in this beautiful waterfall on a very warm August day. Made so many memories and I can't wait to go back again!

Dominica is a small, beautiful island where 90% of the people would take the shirt off their backs to help a tourist. However, there are a small few who think they can do whatever they want and there are no consequences.
I wasn’t new to Dominica when I visited in 2023. I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer for 3 years in La Plaine and lived another year in the capital of Roseau. I’d visited almost every corner of the island and decided to try Jaco Falls as something different with a local friend. We paid our entrance fees and went down, hoping to enjoy swimming in the pool. Instead, when we got down, they were doing a photo shoot for Miss Dominica (so there were 6 women styling and posing in front of the falls and in the water), meaning we couldn’t enjoy the waterfall whatsoever. We immediately went back up and asked the woman for a refund, telling her there was no way we could even dip our toes in the water. It became clear fast that she had known the photo shoot was happening (and knew it when we purchased our ticket less than an hour before). She refused to refund the tickets, saying she couldn’t control what happened once people got down there.
In the US, you would call that woman a sketchy thief. Down there, you would call her a jumbi thief. Regardless, we had paid for tickets to access the falls when she knew full well there was an event going on already. The fact that she didn’t refund the tickets puts a stain on Dominica tourism and makes tourists think everyone is dishonest.
Instead of going to this mediocre waterfall, please know there are many other options around the island for a fun excursion:
-La Plaine’s waterfall with a medium level hike to it (pay $20 for a guide)
-Emerald Pool with a simple paved hike (pay the park entry fee)
-Snorkeling with bubbles at Champagne Beach on the southwest side
-Idyllic swimming and a small hike at Scott’s Head on the southwestern-most tip of the island
-Swimming and good vibes at Mero Beach on the west coast in the middle of the island
-Quiet swimming at Purple Turtle Beach on the northwest
-A million free rivers where you can stop and swim

We went on a shore excursion from our cruise ship. We were given about 30 minutes at the site--It takes about 5 minutes to walk down the stairs (use the handrails the stairs can be slippery). The water is very cold and it's easy to get in up to your knees. Getting in further is not for the faint of heart because of the temperature--but legend has it that if you fully immerse in the water you will become more youthful. There is a bar and clean restrooms at the top of the falls and there is a viewing platform if you don't want to do stairs.

This is one of the easier falls to get to. The view is beautiful and is tucked away in a little cove. So peaceful to visit.
