Access to the site is up a very steep road, but at the top, there is ample car parking. This is another attraction that falls within the weekly pass available at those visitor centres that are open. After passing through the visitor centre, it is an easy uphill 10 minute walk to the falls on a good surface. At the top, there is a spacious viewing platform where both falls are visible. To the left, the 'father' falls are a combination of cold and hot springs which mix shortly before cascading down the sheer rock face and is the taller of the two. The 'mother' falls on the right, has a greater volume of water but is shorter. Access to pools under the falls is more difficult here and involves scrambling over rocks. We didn't bother as the views from the covered platform were excellent.

This is a bit of a uphill hike to get to the viewing platform but it worth it. The path is pretty good but there are steps that will keep people with bad knees from making the hike. The falls are wonderful and while we were there it was running pretty good.

As the title states, the hke is very short (ten minutes) to the views of the two falls. If you want to do some boulderin, you can get a lot closer. Unfortunately, I encountered a local who I mistook for an employee who insisted that I follow him to the base of the falls then tried to extort money from me for his guidance which i did not need.

You’ll see 2 beautiful falls after a short walk on an established path. The Father Fall is what feeds the hydroelectric plant.

While in Dominica, you must visit the falls. In fact, you should get a tour of this beautiful, underdeveloped island. There are many falls within the rainforest.

This is one of the biggest waterfall that i have seen in the Caribbean. It is beautiful and loos awesome in the rainforest settings.
What's even more fantastic is that i rappled down from the top of the waterfall down the bottom and then trekked back to the view point from where every see the waterfall from far.
I rappled down the waterfalls through Extreme Dominica - Advanced Canyoning and was by far the best adventure / experience of my life so far.

Two spectacular waterfalls come into view sandwiched between towering peaks after a strenuous hike through a dense forest. The trail is steep in some spots and can be slippery if wet (much of the time as you are in a rain forest)!!! Wear shoes/boots with rubber soles good for gripping rocks and soil. It is worth the climb but take your time.

Hi, hartskys2. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Did you take a tour? We are coming in on a ship and wondered if there are operators at the pier and about how much it is for a tour.

you can take a short walk to the supermarket, and catch the local van right up to the falls. takes about 20 mins and costs about $5. I'm sure with a ship coming in there will be plenty of people at the wharf offering to take you

Yes. I didn't swim there so I don't recall if there a really deep pools, but you can definitely get in the water.

How easy is the wal from the car park to the viewpoint? I am 60 and have arthritic knees but I would really like to see the Falls if I can.

It is a relatively easy walk to the platform. A few stairs which are not steep with the exception of one or two. It goes uphill and downhill. The steps are not high so small kids can climb with ease. I would say it's just a few minutes walk to the lookout which is sheltered and has about two wooden benches. You can get some great photos from there.
Lost camera?
My friend and I rescued a camera off a hard to reach rock at trafalgar falls on 28/06/15. It's a black Olympus camera with a red strap.
It has lots of holiday photos on it so we would love to return it!
Message me if it's yours or you know the owners!
Thanks

May I ask how much you paid for the taxi. We will be 4 people, and I always prefer to take a taxi, but an idea of how much to pay would be helpful.

The cost when I went Dec. 2019 was $25.00 USD per person. There were about 20 people on the open-air shuttle. Guide was fantastic!

How many steps to the platform to photograph the falls?
Sher N

I can't remember exactly how many but the steps went up and down and they were not high so small children can climb with ease. Most of the path is sheltered with trees so it's a pretty shady walk. It you get tired along the way you can also just take a break and stand to the side in the shade. Make sure to take some water and bug spray and a camera if you decide to go. Try if you can as the view is amazing!! Although from the lookout it's just about 5 mins or less to the sulphur pool which might be good for your knees. There is one spot along the way which might give a little trouble as you have to cross a little water and climb over a small rock. Just remember that you'd have to climb this on the way back. It's not difficult but try to if you can!! Good luck!!
