There is no easy way to the Valley of Desolation and the Boiling Lake. Its a 10+ mile day hike with a guide over a couple mountains and every step is a steep step up or down. But its well worth the aching legs to see this great wonder. Our guide costs $100 for two people, which may seem steep, but this is very remote country and your guide ensures that you get home safely, in addition to pointing out countless things you may have missed otherwise.

I love love love this place! So tranquil and beautiful. We took a tour to this park and it was well worth it, the guide was very informative and navigating the trail was easy. They say it takes about 15 miles to get to the emerald pool but we made it down there much quicker. There are also other trails available to do. The rainforest is in this park and there is so much greenery and rivers, it just takes your breath away. There were a lot of people at the Emerald pool when we reached it and the water was freezing! But so worth it. This is like one of those once in a lifetime experiences - a must do!
