This place has a great reason to exist: giving credit to the priest or fray that helped stop the mistreatment and abuse towards the indigenous population. Wonderful ocean view and cultural attraction. However, it needs to be kept clean for tourists.

Very strange and ungly monument. Very dirty place. It is not worth it to spend time. Around the only stench and dirt.

Well, this is a place that was once beautiful and historically interesting but it has become a place for prostitution (including children) I hope it gets rescued and again becomes a place for the family. To have such a place be a haven for drugs...More

It stands on the Malecon in Santo Domingo, pointing out to sea. It doesn't look anything special but I am glad to know who it is!

The city or the federal government finally cleaned up the area and have guards there now. Great place to visit.
