They have a representation of each country in America, and all Columbus expedition to America. The ashes of Columbus is in this Lighthouse.

Every country has artifacts here and it was a great time for me to see this wonderful attraction. They also have replica of Golden Gate Bridge nearby.

We went as part of a tour and only had time to walk around the outside so were a little disappointed not to be able to go into the building (cost US$3). From the outside it is pretty impressive and the views of Santo Domingo...More

The monument is quite imposing on the outside. Did not have the time to go inside. The surrounding was unkempt and had an appearance of being neglected.

It is such a huge monument and it really highlights the importance of Columbus in this area. Until you walk up to the monument, you can't appreciate it's grandeur

Built for the 5th Centennial anniversary of Columbus' discovery of the Ameriaca's, this site is an historical landmark/lighthouse built in his honor (It's disputed whether or not his remains lay to rest here or at the Basillica in Seville, Spain). Nice stop on the way...More

Its half an hour visit on the way to Santo Domingo, Columbus is not buried in it but would have loved too
