Nice place to walk through, with pretty views. We actually had a guide walk us through and tell us the history ( but totally unnecessary )

It's one of the forts that make up fortifications around historical part of the city. We like climbing things so did just the same here - you can get on top of it and enjoy some good views, also see how things were built back...More

A translator?? met me at the entrance and I gave in. Was glad I did. He did not speak much English but I speak a little Spanish and he really tried to explain. Very nice views...right on the river. Worth seeing.

Old Spanish fort that guarded the mouth of the river. Was occupied for a long history, and there are some great things to see and experience.

Do not pay for a tour of absolutely nothing! Nice views of absolutely nothing... This is nothing but an empty half restored dump! Dominican tourism at its best!

Very inexpensive but impressive as you discover how significant this fort was to the course of history. Hearing about how Sir France Drake conquered the Spanish fort for the English in the early 1500's is a great story.
