This is a famous park next to the cathedral of Santo Domigo, and is the middle of colonial zone. This place is surrounding by giftshops and coffee shops, and during the weekend you can see a lot locals just talking or little kids feeding the dove. Also, is very common to see local live music from time to time.

Historic park in the center of the colonial area. It has the statue of Christopher Colombus. There are benches to sit and watch people.

I visited years ago and this was something to take a picture of. I was most impressed by a working rotary telephone in the tree next to the statue. This is in the plaza right outside of the oldest Catholic church in the New World.

The status of women with pegions....surrounded by real pegions is a nice scene. At the back is the first church of America.

This is the place were you take the Chuchu Train Colonial, hire a guide for your Colonial Zone visit and visit the pigeons around the Christopher Columbus Statue, y that are ok to feed. There are restaurants nearby and many gift shops.

If you are in the old city Saturday or Sunday you must stop at Plaza Colon and get an ice cream and sit to watch the people. It's relax, family ambience in a lovely square
