Lovely statue in memory of Christopher Columbus. Be aware there are hundreds of pigeons in the square! Also there are loads of guys selling letter belts, rings rosary beads & crosses and they are constantly coming up to you Plenty of bars around the square...More

The park has not too much itself but its in the middle of the cathedral and some historic buildings. Lots of self proclaimed guides will be a nuisance.

a few excellent cafes allow you to sit and get some serious mojito and pina coladas, some annoying street vendors, but overall a good place top rest and plan your excursion into the old city,
