The Santo Domingo tour was one of my favorite things about our stay in the Dominican. I learned a lot, took some cool tours of their buildings, tried their local candy, and shopped! The prices at the shop was really reasonable too!

Tour guide (booked through Sunquest vacations) was very informative however he spoke 95% German and Spanish. Thank goodness I understand some Spanish. I felt bad for the English speaking people in the tour.

We had quite a day! Coming and going, we switched from small to large buses, not a problem but waiting time was involved. We were on the bus with Mungie (sp?). He was funny, knowledgeable and accommodating. Used head phones to hear him in crowds that was a great idea. The food at the restaurant was ok, not the best.... More

Downtown of Santo Domingo is full of history. The problem is in the peoples. They can not present it like something great because everything around is in very bad condition. The historical buildings are without problemes but the situation around is for crying. You can see 300 years old building and lot of mess around. You see the history but... More

Although it was a bit far from Punta Cana we have enjoyed the trip with our awesome guide named Kevin. He calls himself Kevin from Heaven (just to let you know). It was great pleasure to see something that belonged to Columbus family and to see all the beautiful places around the City. Train tour was also great. If you... More

If you are on vacation and have a day to spare, this is great way to experience the culture, see the country, see the city & discover the history of Santo Domingo. It is a full day of driving and walking, so be prepared to get tired but well educated. The churches and Columbus's sons home were magnificent! We also... More

I'm a history buff, so I enjoyed the Columbus house, cathedral, and other sights of the Colonial Zone, which dates to over 100 years before the Pilgrims. But the 11 hour trip could have been way shorter by cutting out 2 of the 3 extended stops for souvenir shopping (and obvious kickback to the tour operator). The tour guide talked... More

If you visit Santo Domingo I would advise staying there for a couple of days we had lunch at the Francis Hotel it looked lovely. A days visit is an early start and very long and you don't get to see everything for as long as you need, it's what i would called a whistle stop tour and be prepared... More

There were eight friends on a city tour, walking (10,000 steps on my pedometer) and driving to the caves, China Town, the Presidential palace and a few other sites. The tour was led by Juan of Bambino Taxi's and we would whole heartedly endorse him as an excellent English speaking guide. We had an excellent 5 hour tour for a... More
