Absolutely beautiful Amazing how this was built in the early 15th century Very in expensive. Get a local guide to show you around 20 bucks

when you buy your entrance-ticket you can include a audio-guide.All the chapels in the cathedral have a # and you can listen to the guide,so there is no rush and you can get the guide in many languages.

Whatever else you do in Santo Domingo don't miss this amazing cathedral. Full of history and some amazing architecture and beautiful religious artifacts. It's an incredible place and I would definitely go again.

It was really nice, the place is beatiful and really interesting, the weather was great, it wasn’t too hot by that time of the year, you can hear the story of Dominican Republic

This cathedral is a must see during your visit to the city of Santo Domingo. All of the culture and sites of the city are so dreamy. I enjoyed the site seeing of Santo Domingo most during my entire trip the DR !

Must visit, first cathedral in Américas and it is gothic. Build in 16th century with rich history in Zona colonial, they also have audio guide. The admission less $2.

Yes this the first Catholic Church in all America, founded in 1512. It's very impressive and interesting, should be in better condition but our government dont take care of our most valuable and historical resources.
