I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about Extremely quick tour, unfortunately my understanding of Spanish is limited. Historical items. Go for the quick shots and see if you can support them with tips or a shop purchase. The alcohol is good and worth going to Use bug spray

This rum museum is a new spot located in the colonial zone. The museum is free and they offer a tour as well. They have a rooftop bar where they offer very tasty rum cocktails; also the view is amazing, you can see the top of the first cathedral in America. Loved it and surely will take more visitors there.

Just spent 3 days to make a reservation, yet it was impossible to do. Had to go to a different place the same day just so I could hang out.

We popped in and were taken in on a free, private tour almost immediately. It's not very big but you'll learn about the history of rum production and how rum is made. At the end you'll see where they're making rum and can take some free samples. The museum makes money by selling the rum that they make in the shop in the front. The prices of rum are on par with what you'll see for craft rum in the US: $40 for reserve 750ml bottles and down from there with smaller bottles and other variants... but it is the best rum I've ever tasted!
