The place was closed for renovations and has nothing posted on the net nor outside at the entrance. The place looked abandoned and not cared for. We wouldn't have known we had the right place if we didn't see an man walking out and asked him. He couldn't provide an re opening date. He just said until further notice.

You can learn a lot of history by visiting a museum. Learned about the early Dominican history and the now instinct Taino culture that probably only lives on in this museum.

The tour is followed by a farm fresh lunch and is a great way to see the... More

Was really looking forward to going here and it was hard to find. Once we did we found the gate locked but a yappy dog announced our arrival & a woman came out & said it was closed because the owner had died. At least, between our limited Spanish and her no English, that was our interpretation of what she... More

I loved the Taino art and the shows that they have shown my family because i love to dance myself and its one of my best things that i do when i hear a beat or any type of music. you can just see me either tapping my foot, nodding my head, or just cheering lol

My wife and I visited the Museum of Taino Art in March as part of a Caribbean cruise. The museum is a little off the beaten track but once we arrived we found the experience extremely worthwhile. Visitors are able to follow an auio-guided path through a series of life-size dioramas illustrating the lives of the pre-Colombian Taino Indians and... More
