The drive to the lake was a wonderful countryside drive. When we arrived we were told we were no in a volcano. It was such wonderful experience to be in a volcano of that size. The lake was normal with plants at the edges and...More

Well, at least it is cool and pleasant to visit ... Not much to see nor anything interesting ... Just a refreshing escape from the heat of the coast ...

Not much at the tourist info centre but a great view. Few shops and a toilet. Didn't actually go down to the lakeside.

We drove there not sure what the cost would be if a tour. A bit disappointing. Not much to see, just a lake in the middle of no where. There is a hiking trail but it was so secluded, we didn't try.

Took the bus up grand etang to see the lake. Quite an interesting experience. The view at the lake was beautiful with the mountains all around with the fog.

This lake is nice but not overly scenic and smaller than the name Grand implies. The drive up to the National Park is an adventure on narrow windy road. It is the journey more than the destination. Lots of quaint and different eateries.

As always, good to see something of local life, housing etc. en-route to Grand Etang...but when you get there...there really is not a lot to see unless you are wanting to walk around the countryside in the area.

We enjoyed visiting this - beautiful fresh water lake with lots of fish swimming by the dock. The air was cool and fresh - truly a beautiful sight to see, and refreshing stop.

Nothing terribly impressive about this lake. The kids liked that it is in a crater and they enjoyed feeding the fish that swarmed to the food.

When I think of a cobalt volcanic caldera lake, this does not come to mind. However the lush undergrowth and the scent of spices in the damp air round it make you think of a lost world. Worth going to see as part of a...More
