On a recent trip to Guadeloupe, we played 18 holes at Golf de Saint-François. We had a great time. It's a well-designed course and has some challenging shots. If you don't want to carry your club South, they rent clubs – club rental was €30. The rentals were Callaways; nothing to get excited about in terms of their condition, but... More

The course itself is ok, nothing wrong with it, perhaps a bit too long. Greens need some work but at the moment they are pretty good, difficult to read... Practice area small, otherwise ok. Caddie master service good, especially Olivia. They speak also english, not so well but they try and are friendly. Restaurant staff at the club simply rude... More

What a wretched golfing experience. This course is not very well designed, its condition is sub-par, its cost to play is high, minor golf essentials (tees, a pencil) do not exist,it is frighteningly expensive to get there from Pointe a Pitre (another subject) and most importantly, the staff could not be more disingenuous regarding the playing conditions. They took our... More

The golf course at St. Francois, Guadeloupe is undergoing renovations. They are building a new club house, which looks gorgeous. The golf course itself has been renovated and has improved, but the greens are in pretty poor conditions. We enjoyed our games there, despite the shape of the greens. Most people walk the course, but golf carts are available. It... More

The golf course is highly regarded and since I don't participate in the sport I can't comment on it. But I saw it and I know that Grande Terre is rather dry, unlike Basse Terre. In 2001 they were in the midst of a two year drought which I would suspect is not all that unusual. The golf course was... More
