This road starts in Point au Pitre and crosses the island of Basse Terre. It winds through rain forest and there are plenty of nice stops. The road itself is beautiful even if you don't stop. We just loved maison de la foret!

If you have access to a car during your stay in Guadeloupe you should definitely drive this road. It is an interesting drive and there are plenty of places to stop and explore along the way, including Cascade des Ecrevisses.

Especially if you're still adjusting to your standard shift car, but quite beautiful and the short walk to the waterfall, Cascade des Ecrivisses, is worthwhile.

Nice scenic drive to go to the west of Basse Terre with enjoyable stops along the way (we stopped to the cascade des ecrevisses). The road was not bad at all if you go slowly (which allows you to enjoy your surroundings as well). There...More

Although there are not too many viewpoints, the road itself is fun. You drive up into the mountains and see a different climate than the rest of the island - different trees and landscape. It is quite fun and a little scary, but no more...More

I'm not sure why people find this road scary. Based on reviews, I was expecting much worse - having driven all over Central America, not to mention lots of pretty scary roads in American national parks this was a piece of cake! Yes, it's windy...More

This is a nice scenic drive cutting across Basse-Terre. Our condo was in Gosier and we used this road to get to Plage de la Malendure. On this route you will find cascade aux ecrevisses and maison de la forest to name a few.

Not sure why this is even an attraction. Road was good. Drive was beautiful through the forest. No complaint, just not wowed.
