The Route is actually a short cut going up and down through the national park. As the road makes a lot of curves you`ll have to pay attention but it`s a very nice drive through forest and you can stop in a good weather at...More

This road cuts through the island’s jungle interior, and is steep and twisty, so be careful. Not worth a special trip, but it’s and easy route back to Pointe-à-Pitre and a pretty drive.

Windy road in some areas. Beautiful, peaceful drive through the forest. Clean roads. Be sure to stop at the waterfall. Take a few stops and enjoy the scenic views.

The route cuts through the middle of Basse-Terre. It divides the island in halves and offers great views while driving. One can also make stops on the way and admire jungle or waterfalls.

A nice diversion from the beach passing mountain scenery, waterfalls, well maintained road with good grip in wet conditions, a good route over to the coast.

This road starts in Point au Pitre and crosses the island of Basse Terre. It winds through rain forest and there are plenty of nice stops. The road itself is beautiful even if you don't stop. We just loved maison de la foret!

If you have access to a car during your stay in Guadeloupe you should definitely drive this road. It is an interesting drive and there are plenty of places to stop and explore along the way, including Cascade des Ecrevisses.

Especially if you're still adjusting to your standard shift car, but quite beautiful and the short walk to the waterfall, Cascade des Ecrivisses, is worthwhile.
