This isn't the best place to take your children. You will have to have conversations about subjects that may be waiting until they get older. While some people offering to sell marijuana to me were discrete, there were others that would do so in front of the kids. Everyone wants you to come into their shop and purchase cheap items... Don't waste your time if you don't look Jamician. You will be bothered about buying useless items and about buying pot but most of the stuff is worthless to buy.

Formal hotel tour didn't go into the Harbour Street Craft Market, (disappointed). So I used a locally licensed taxi driver (he had a Red plated vehicle, which means he is legit!) not associated with the hotel for this. Dane was great, very friendly, professional and reasonably priced. Good driver (I would never drive in Jamaica, OMG!) He wasn't pushy, knew... More

I honestly do not mind people trying to sell me stuff. I know what I want and if I want something I will buy it, so not a big deal. I am also very good at saying NO and meaning it. So, now the drugs. OMG! I got a freaking contact high standing in a store, like weed is literally... More

On Harbour Street, we have the shops that offer a very wide variety of souvenirs, crafts and clothes. There is also a restaurant and a cambio.

We got off a cruise ship and were looking for something to do as we weren't getting any excursions. We thought this was the best option as the taxi we cheap to get to it and it was described as Hip Street. The taxi turned out to be a rip off and was a shared bus where they would take... More

Market is made up of small tents of people selling crafts! It is constant! People trying to get you to shop in, their shops! People trying to braid your hair... Can be a bit overwhelming!

If you are familiar with Jamaica and what to expect [ie the bartering and constant selling] then this is an ok place to visit. We got dragged to the craft market which is tucked away from the main street. On the way there a cop stopped us and told us not to go and then 5 minutes later told us... More

The Harbor Street Market was a little more than we were trying to get in to. We went on a day that there was no cruise ship, so we were literally the only customers there. Because of this, we had 5 people swarming us the whole time. Luckily the taxi driver stayed with us and ran crowd control. The hardest... More
