So this was interesting! It was out in the middle of the ocean on a sandbar. You can swim and snorkel if you want to when you get there, but the issue is getting there! Call Cross Jamaica Tours and ask for Owen. Owen will take you to the area to get on a boat and go to the bar.... More

I'd honestly never heard of this place before but it was on the list of 'things to do' from our driver on the way to YS falls. You have to take a boat out there (which was fun in itself). Its basically a beach shack in the ocean - nothing to do except drink, swim (don't dive in its shallow!)... More

Visiting the pelican bar was definetily the best choice me and my friends made during our stay in Jamaica. If you like having a few cold ones in a different environment this is the place. We also tried the homemade lobster lunch, and it was ok, paid ~14 USD. Totally we stayed at the bar for 3 hours, which maybe... More

When I was on my vacation at Sandals South coast I took a catamaran trip out to the pelican bar. Floyd and his crew were there to serve. The food was excellent and there was a gorgeous view. If you want to see a different aspect of Jamaica, this is a trip for you to make.

This was me of my main aims whist visiting Jamaica. It is unfortunately Now promoted by the package holiday brigade from Montego Bay so gets very busy from early lunchtime with mainly a,erican tpurists. That being said if you get there for about 11am or after 2 and before sunset you will have a fun different environment to have a... More

Do not think it merits the hype but we quite enjoyed our visit. Unless you love sunbathing and drinking there is nothing to do except swim so we were only there for a short time.

Something I've never done before - sat in a bar made of sticks out in the middle of the sea! A real experience! It's a great place to visit and have an ice cold beer and lobster lunch. Only issue is that it's a bit expensive ($25 for a lobster lunch) but the food is freshly caught and tasty. Also,... More

One of the highlights of my current trip to Jamaica - yes it is touristy but a whole lot of fun. No thrills bar in the middle of the ocean only serving red stripe, rum punch & fish. Not too many places in the world you can experience this. For people looking to travel, I wouldn't use one of these... More

A bar out in the middle of crystal clear turquoise waters? Yes please! It takes a short boat ride to get out there but it is so worth it. The water is about waist to chest deep and swimming is encouraged. The bar itself has rum punch and beer available and music playing. There are locals hanging out playing dominoes... More

Floyde's Pelican Bar is the culmination of a dream/vision of Floyde Forbes. We have visited it numerous times over the years--and we've watched it evolve. As numerous other people have noted, the Pelican Bar is located on a sandbar about a mile off the coast of Treasure Beach, and you need to get to it via boat. That alone makes... More
