It was a lovely boat trip across the bay from the dock at Black River. When out there it was too rough to swim but I could see it might be awesome if the conditions were good. There are all sorts of curious things left...More

Seriously this bar has more character than any other bar in the world I mean the fact it's out a mile into the ocean speaks for itself! Lots of weed there already and everyone is super friendly

Used 'Rasta' George to transport us from the land to the bar-15 minute trip. Bar was great. Nice cold beer and to cool off a little, a dip in the sea was great. Names carved in the frame of the bar, so we are there...More

I visited the Pelican Bar with a couple other members of my family. We had a very good time. Do pack your water shoes for the trip. The water around the bar is shallow and the ocean floor is not very nice to your feet....More

We took the trip to the Pelican Bar from Negril. It was a long, but a beautiful drive through the Jamaican countryside. I really enjoyed seeing the different parts of the island on this drive, it was quite an experience. Once we arrived at the...More

Hahaha! Such a fun place. We went with friends and rang the bar to see what/who was the best way to taxi us out and we got a deal on the boat price $10 dollars ea, which was cheap compared to most of the others...More

This was just a great experience, I can't say you should expect to much from this bar but it is very quirky and just something so different and beautiful. We was advised by our tour guide not to get food as it sometimes takes hours,...More

This bar looks amazing and is pretty cool when you realise it is all wood and nothing else. We got stranded here in a storm as the boat drivers didn't want to leave in the storm - I can't blame them it was horrendous. The...More

We traveled by a small, broken down fishing boat without any life jackets. The two young men that piloted the boat were wonderful and kind. THe ride out and back was $15 american dollars. If you go ask your cab driver to please take you...More

1.5 hrs to 2 (if coming from west end of negril). Book a trip to YS Falls, black River, it's all in the same parish.
What are the opening times? Is it a place to go in the evening?

It is a day trip. You go by boat. Its about 20 to 25 minutes from Treasure Beach in St. Elizabeth and about the same from Black River. This is not a night tour. The Bar in literally in the ocean. Opens from 9:00AM to... More

Looks like a fun place. Were you able to use American money, or did you have to use Jamaican? Credit cards? Do you know how much the boat to get there costs, and if you can get there from the Sandals resort?

It is fun. The waters around the bar are usually calm so you can swim or just stand and talk. They do not have a card machine, but will take both US and Jamaican dollars. All Sandals Resorts should have an organized tour... More
