Absolutely beautiful! Little bit of a jaunt to get to the beach, but gorgeous once there. No crowds and had the place to ourselves. Not for swimming. ..rough tides. But simply beautiful!

Not a beach I would choose out of the many in Puerto Rico, but we were stating in Yabucao, so it sufficed in a pinch.

This is a lovely beach great for running as I have often done. The waves are wild so it is for surfing and only expert swimmers but you can walk up to the light house if you like to hike. Gorgeous surroundings and then you can take the scenic route to Yabucoa or Patillas where you can find great restaurants... More

Love this beach! Besides it being clean and no crowds, it has the best view to the Punta Tuna Lighthouse and a trail inside the Humedal Punta Tuna Reserve that leads up to the lighthouse. It's not apt for swimmers and be careful not to bother leatherback turtle nesting areas.

after driving for more than 20 minutes the place was closed for the sunday without no reason. the drive is spectacular and reminds you as the coast of california. after looking for a place to eat in the surrounding some of the people commented that the people that managed the beach were having a private party. Playa Maunabo is a long beach. Width is affected by a full 1/3rd by tide. The beach is the effluent of a mountain valley. All of the sand is Quartz, very rare in Puerto Rico. At sunset the beach turns to a pure gold color. Its something to see. Just off the beach is the Sargent Reef. I do not... More
