About
Puerto Rico's largest mangrove forest. Native Afro-Caribbean food offers an exquisite taste. Nearby is the beach where you can feel the warm waters and also you can explore nature and the cultural experience only Piñones area can offer.

So much potential please clean it up😞
Aug 2021 • Friends
The town needs to clean this place up. Trash everywhere I thought it would of cleaned up from the time I was there 2yrs ago. But it’s worse and the smell was horrendous. We actually had to run to our car and get away from the beach side. That’s how bad it was

We did drive down and the smell faded and we were able to find a decent restaurant to eat. The food was good.

Trash everywhere
Jul 2021 • Family
Stay away! Piñones is not what it used to be. Drugs, murders and shadiness all over. The streets are full of trash. The place has become disgusting. Can’t even imagine where the food has been.

Paradise!

After snorkeling with the turtles on my last day in Puerto Rico, I asked my snorkeling instructor where her favorite beach was in PR and she was quick to answer: Pinones!
Golden sand, emerald green and deep blue ocean, and there aren't lots of people if you go further out enough on the beach which made this experience special for me!
I also came across a fun local food vendor and got to eat some exclusive local food - that made this trip to Pinones extra special too!
I recommend this beach to anyone who is looking to go away from a crown and just enjoy what nature has to offer.

Wasn’t on our list but it was perfect.

The shoreline and exploring was off the hook, and the local cuisine and people were very authentic. I would do it again.

One of our favorite beaches
Feb 2020
We stopped here for a few hours before our departing flight and wish we had found it sooner! We didn't even get a chance to explore the boardwalk and food. This might not your typical family beach for playing in the waves, but for our family (kids 4 and 6) it was great. We played in the tide pools which were shallow and clear. We walked along the scenic coast and given the waves mostly crashing on off-shore rocks there was a lot of sea glass and pieces of coral to find. We also found several hermit crabs.

We just found a restaurant on the seashore side and parked in the parking lot. I'm not sure the rules, but it was empty and no signage.

Boardwalk stroll
Jan 2020
Great stop to make. Beautiful ocean is right there, variety of shops. The extensive boardwalk had some visible damage from the hurricane that had not been repaired but the boardwalk was very still great for a walk.

Only go on the weekend
Dec 2019
We went on a tuesday and it was dead. We were the only tourist walking on the boardwalk. It was a $20 uber ride for really not much to see. We had high hopes to check out local food but we were disappointed.

Great view and beautiful views!

I venture to this area right over the bridge coming from the Carolina beaches! It’s home to several restaurants serving local fried food to die for! The highlight to me of this area are the absolutely gorgeous views of the ocean and the beach. There are a few places you can make your way down to the beach and do some swimming though this is really not a swimming beach. This area still has a lot of potential as the road around the area is horrible and many abandoned restaurants give the place a really bad appearance! The Mayor of Carolina should fix it!
