The attraction included a well cataloged small museum with artifacts and a diarama.depicting life in the park 1200-1500- AD. The Tainos were a hardworking/ hardplaying Tribe of Indians. There is little left of the culture; in fact, this museum contains more history of the Taino Tribe than anywhere else in the Caribbean. The small park contained multiple playing fields where... The Caguana Ceremonial Park and Museum is an interesting place to visit. The stones are incredible and the museum itself has so many artifacts on display. An added plus, if you are active or retired military there is no admission fee. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you are interested in the history of Puerto Rico.

We visited this site on a warm January day; spent at least 2 hours exploring the lovely little museum & then the archeological site itself. A very educational stop; we learned a lot about the indigenous Tainos, the island inhabitants at the time of the Spanish conquest. The staff was helpful & informative -- and helped direct us across the... More

My husband and I stopped by on a sunny Sunday morning and had a wonderful tour. We learned a lot about the Taino Indians, the original Puerto Ricans, and this special place from the guide, Fermin, who spent about 45 minutes with us, sharing his archeological knowledge in excellent English. The many petroglyphs were amazing. The staff was very helpful... More

When I stayed in Utuado, I was looking forward to go to this historical site. It was really nice to see how the Tainos lived and celebrated their Batey. The petroglyphs also showed a slight glimpse of their drawings. The museum was a little small but had good information. The only thing that did concern me is that some petroglyphs... More

We were a little short on time and the ground around the ceremonial squares was muddy, so we didn't stay very long, but it would have been worth a longer visit. The little museum has good explanations in Spanish and English along with some beautiful artifacts, and the staff was very knowledgeable as they answered our questions. Unfortunately the petroglyphs... More

Caguana Ceremonial Site (Parque Ceremonial Indigena Caguana) This is a very interesting site tucked away in the hillside, overlooking the river and a nice place to spend an hour or so. It was discovered in 1912 and is believed to be a ceremonial site of the Taino indigenous people. The site is fairly large and features a dozen large rectangular,... More

The GPS sent us up a mountain and said there was a road straight through someone's house. Some roads are downright dangerous. If you're a nervous driver - don't drive. But the harrowing drive was worth it. I felt like I was somewhere sacred and we all separated and spent our private time walking around. It's sad to remember this... More

Great place to visit. Beautiful grounds. Loved the petroglyphs. So much history! The museum was small but interesting. The gift shop had a variety of books and other items. I highly recommend this.
