Love the sights from el Morro

Prettiest Cemetery I've ever seen. Well appointed and an amazing view as a backdrop. No need to go in, you can see from el Morro walls.

I would come here sometimes for an introspective, contemplative activity to get away from the bustle of Old San Juan. The tombs are gorgeous and there's a captivating view of the ocean, and you can walk around quietly despite the cemetery being located right by popular tourist spots. It's a unique activity.

I have always loved this particular sight. If you climb up on one of El Morro's walls, you can overlook the cemetery with the ocean waves in the background. It's a stunning view.

Last time we visited, the cemetery gate was closed. This time, it was open and we were in for a real treat. This cemetery is so unique being atop a cliff on the side of the island, with sweeping ocean views behind it. Two of my friends are photographers and we spent an hour or more just wandering around seeing... More

This cemetery is captivating ( and I am not one to be caught anywhere near a cemetery). What makes it even more interesting is the tomb designs and its location. Its located at the main entrance to the favela (so basically you have to pass the cemetery anytime you want to enter the favela) in Old San Juan. Its worth... More

Outside the walled city of Old San Juan, next to a slum (former slaughter-house location); a picturesque (and well maintained) above-ground cemetery.

The silence walking thru this was WOW. It over looking the oceans crashing in on the rocks. I could feel the spirit of those around guarding this fort. WoW!

This was an interesting place and although it sounds morbid it actually was beautiful in it's own way. There are some lovely things written and it has the most spectacular views. We always find ourselves walking around places like this on holiday. Very peaceful.
