Old town centers or Plazas are all so different. I found the Plaza de Armas in Old San Juan beautiful and characteristic. Seems to be the place I always end up on after walking around the streets. But the Plaza is lined with shops and a few restaurants. Plaza de Armas is a great place to rest for a few... More

Perfect place to sit, relax and people watch after walking around Old San Juan shopping district. There is a public parking--a 2 minute walk away, although expensive, offers options to those who rented a car. Street performers were also present and a couple of coffee shops.

A good place to meet up and start the day w a cappuccino and Mallorca. Or relax midday, it's a convenient place to regroup whilst taking in the local scene.

The Plaza de Armas is on your way from the lower part of Old San Juan en route to the upper section such as San Sebastian street. If you get here, you probably have walked uphill for a bit, so you might consider sitting down and enjoy the surroundings. Located in front of San Juan's City Hall, it is an... More

We've been to Old San Juan several times, and the plaza is always our central meeting and hanging out place! The kids adore the pigeons, and there are always interesting people and pets around. Sometimes there are artistic and musical performances. Nothing beats walking to the plaza in the early morning, sitting and listening to the fruit vendors, and getting... More

This Plaza was just outside our hotel. Every evening we would sit in the plaza after the sun went down and enjoy conversations with those in the plaza. In the morning there was a old man who sold bananas from his homemade cart. There is a lot of construction/renovation going on in/around this plaza. However it doesn't take away from... More

Nice little square with benches and places to sit. We found this to be a great place to get a drink (from the SuperMax grocery store or the Pharmacy) and sit and rest during a long day of shopping and sightseeing. Only need to spend $4 for drinks instead of $20 in one of the fancy restaurants. Nice place to... More

This is an excellent spot to people watch and just relax and hangout. Two little stands that serve coffee/snacks. Locals come out to practice their music. Loved it!
