Impressive room. Feels and looks like one of those classical, stereotypical "old" libraries -- think the library from that Indiana Jones movie. Well worth the visit!

FDF landmark. Beautiful architecture and a must see if you happen to visit Fort de France old town. It served as a refuge from rain for us but very interesting outside and inside

The building looks great on the outside, is only mildly interesting on the inside. The best thing about the inside is that it's nice and cool on a hot day, after a walk around the town square. It was also kind of fun to go...More

As we got off our cruise ship in Fort de France, Martinique we walked along the front where we came across this lovely old historical library so we had a short look inside and then had a coffee nearby as free wifi was available. We...More

Short walk away from Cruise Pier and Waterfront. Large, beautiful building you won't miss. It's interesting to see these kind of buildings in the middle of Caribbean. What is the most amazing thing, it was built for Paris World Expo 1889, then dismantled and shipped...More

Our family stopped here during our walking tour of Fort de France. I had read a lot about it and was excited to see it, but it was somewhat disappointing. The building is unique, but it is pretty rundown. It is free to enter, and...More

It's a astonishing building for sure but offers nothing than a quick walk through. 10 minutes tops. Nice to pass by on a FDF stroll.

The Schoelcher library is one of the most interesting buildings in Fort de France; walk inside to admire its ceiling; quite often, they hold exhibitions there. It is easy to find, when walking along the Savannah.

Hi Chrisa, I presume there is a misunderstanding with the name of a beach Schoelcher and the library. Unfortunatelly I cannot help since I reviewed the Library.
