On our journey between Canaries and Anse La Raye, our guidebook recommended stopping off at Plas Kassav, the island's only baker and seller of the popular cassava bread. The opening hours seemed up for debate but once we managed to get inside, the variety of flavours and friendly service was brilliant. Lovely views over the rainforest below too. Very dense... More

We drove through Canaries on our way to Soufrier. The town was a very small, quaint fishing village. On the way back to Canaries, we stopped at several scenic overlooks both south and north of town and the views were fantastic. I wish we had had the time to really stop and check out this city.

We were on a road tour from where our cruise ship had docked in Castries sound the island of St Lucia. This is one of a couple of quaint little fishing villages that we stopped briefly at on our circumnavigation. The other as i recall (and my photos confirm) was Anse La Raye. There's not much to Canaries, but it... More

So much to see in a short amount of time on st Lucia! It's necessary to have a driver help you get around if you don't plan on driving yourself. CAnaries offered a number of local restaurants, very pleasant locals and colorful villages. I hired Dave Charles taxi to escort me around the island and he did a wonderful job!... More

At first sight there is not much to see at Canaries, but when you walk along the streets and the seeside, you will discover its charm. Stop the car on your tour, get out and talk to some of the friendly locals.

A typical St Lucian village set in a beautiful bay. Interesting to walk around and see how the local people live. Worth wandering down to the waters edge. South of Castries on the road to Soufrierre, the local bus will take you there as will taxis or you can self drive on the road of hairpin bends and tight corners,... More

This was a stop on our Cosol Tour. It was raining and we did not see very much but what we did see, it did not impress us. Just take a couple of pictures and move on.

We took a taxi ride to Canaries. We did not stop as it was raining, but Canaries was very picturesque.
