Not sure what to expect but this was part of a larger cruise excursion. The location was gorgeous. Views spectacular. You see artisans at work making chocolate and painting fabric. Very interesting and the fabrics are beautiful. We bought a chocolate bar that the employees swore would not melt. We brought it home after the cruise to share with our... More

We were delighted to find this victorian building . Lovely show room , we were shown around the batik workshop and saw the chocolate being made . Lovely gifts at differing prices and then enjoyed a drink on the patio and soaked in the beautiful view . I believe this is now being rebranded as Howelton estate . I preferred... More

Batik is a wifely thing, not mine, but this stop is great. The grounds are beautiful, very pleasant to walk through, and the Batik display - the women are working their craft in front of your eyes is great. They spend a lot of time explaining how batik works, which I knew but had not really seen explained clearly, and... More

This stop was included in our cruise excursion to Romney Manor, a beautiful garden about 5 miles from town. We watched artists perform the creative process of the wax -resist designs which are applied to fabric. The sales room offered racks of dresses, caftans & men's shirts along with bags, scarves, prints and wall art. This was an enjoyable change... More

Our group stopped here and learned so much! First we were shown how fabric is dyed using a few different techniques. Then we spent some time looking over the many items they have for sale in their showroom. After making our purchases we walked around the property and were treated to steel drum music, and a great view of the... More

I visited this during a port call in St. Lucia. The shop is way up a mountainside and the view from there is wonderful! We could see our cruise ship docked below in the far distance. The proprietor was very friendly and informative and answered all of our questions about the batik process and the St. Lucia people. They had... More

Came here on a tour. It is a steep walk down to the shop, so take care. The shop itself is divided into the demonstration room and the sales room. We were given a demonstration of how the dying process is done using hot wax and dye. It was an interesting process that looked somewhat like tie dye when it... More

I remember spotting a specific print, thinking the price seemed high, so I strolled out back, and snapped one of the best photos I've ever taken. I spent so much time taking pictures out back, I missed out on purchasing the print. Bus was loading to continue the tour, and make it back in time for the Cruise departure time.... More

Artistry , beautiful grounds with great landscaping and exotic flowers beckoned us to enter and take in panoramic view of Castries but the demonstration on the wax dye process was short / abrupt and though the garments were unique and eye catching they were a little over priced, especially since to the naked eye it looked like tie dye garments.... I visited the Caribelle Batik shop where they make hand dyed clothing using a wax application technique. We were able to see a demonstration of how the technique is applied and subsequently dyed. They have various stages of the technique on display so it's like going into a small working museum. There is a lovely boutique there where you can... More
