If they are selling local good at your resort shop there. Don't make the trip down. Prices are not that good as most items are imported. They sell the same things also at the airport for same price. Dirty, hot and high pressure.

This is mostly souvenirs and some spices. We paid $60 to get there, and while the local crafts were cheaper there, they were the same ones sold outside of our hotel. The taxi drivers wouldn't even let us walk and would yell at us from behind to look at them. Creepy guy selling crafts asked me to take him back... More

I am an early riser, so this morning I hopped into my rental car around 6:45am (while my wife was still sleeping) and headed into Castries to visit the Market, looking for fresh fruits and vegetables. The Market opens at 7 and because of the early time of day, I was able to park on the street very close to... More

Happy I went as it is a popular place to go for local finds. It was expensive to get to from the windjammer ($25USD) each way. I will say everything there is super nick nacky. If you like to get souvenirs like that for people this is the place for you. A lot of it is hand made because you... More

We had a great time in St. Lucia vacationing. We visited the Castries Market in the Capital of St. Lucia one day. First of all you don't need to spend the entire day at the Capital. It will only take you maybe 2 hours to shop and visit the Market and Farmers Market but you will see lots of things... More

Arrived on a Celebrity Cruise at St. Lucia, we took the sea taxi from the port $5 return each, which drops you at the market. As soon as we arrived we found the area to look scruffy and full of the usual souvenir t-shirt / hat stalls etc. As soon as we passed through the market and onto the street... More

I love open markets so I was really looking forward to this visit. I was not disappointed. This is where I truly got a feel of the St Lucian people; So warm and friendly. Sure, they are here to sell their wares and some are very ambitious about it, but there are also many who love to chat and interaction... More
