This street party had a nice diverse crowd with everyone enjoying themselves locals and foreigners alike. The atmosphere was charged but like most events of an open nature there might be potential for a few negative elements if someone is not careful. Drink responsibly, pay attention to your surroundings and anyone would have a wonderful time.

We heard great things about the Friday night parties and a party it is! Rather than go for the street food, (which there is plenty of!! - everyone has a barbecue) we opted for Flavours of the Grill which was wonderful. After dinner we headed out in the streets. There was barbecue, too many bars to count, music, and street... More

If you like to dance, shop for souvenirs, eat and drink at affordable prices, then save your money for the street party. Reggae, dancehall, and soca (and some American pop) are played well into the wee hours, and the street vendors and bars are pouring as long as you're drinking. I recommend taking a public van for just a couple... More

We went early and no one was set up yet. The streets are slummy and stray, undernourished dogs (many showing signs of just having litters) were frequent. We ate in a quaint little restaurant at the suggestion of our cab driver. (the street food was questionable looking). The music was fun and as people began to arrive a local or... More

I was expecting to see some Caribbean culture, live ragai music, some local dancing have some fun. It was just a big speaker in the middle of the street blasting some American thump, thump music to a few tourists. A lot of seedy looking characters hanging about the fringes. Lots of food for sale, not much else to do. We... More

It was a lovely experience and good mix of locals and tourists at this street party in the heart of Gros Islet town. You have to walk around to figure out which food stop you prefer. The grilled lambi (conch) with garlic sauce was divine. We also had king fish. It goes to 2am. DJ played well. A must try... More
