If you have visited the beaches and attractions of the BVI such as Virgin Gorda and are looking for something different to do during a port call in Tortola, the JR Neal Botanic Gardens are a pleasant alternative. Located on the other side of Road Town from the cruise ship terminal, the Gardens are still within walking distance for those... More

Not a huge garden, but has a fine collection of flowering trees, palms and shrubs, the home to many birds and butterflies, including hummingbirds. Not far from the centre of town, but peaceful and tranquil this is delightful garden, well cared for, though not immaculate. Personally I think that adds to its charm. There is also a pond with water... More

This was about 15 minutes walk in total from the cruise terminal where for a small entrance fee we had a walk around these small but well kept peaceful surroundings. The gardens are not vast ,but some very interesting plants. The calabash tree has huge fruits . They have a little shop with water for just 1 dollar. The toilets are very clean with electric had dryer. They have free wi-fi and a nice place to sit on a veranda.

A beautiful oasis in the heart of Road Town. Beautiful grounds and gardens! My wife and I have toured it twice, a few years apart, and loved it both times. a great break from shopping or the beach.

Worth visiting to see lots of flowers in one place. Difficult to presetn flora and the impression is of a modest little space with quiet and time to relax.

Hiked up to the garden from the cruise port on a Saturday afternoon to find it closed! Not happy to return to the port without seeing this attraction. No reason as why it was closed that day. Take waterfront road instead of main street for a more relaxed walk. Check times before you go!

Fun to see the different island vegitation all in one small place, about a city block. Score (3 of 5) is relative to other world botanical gardens. IT gets 5 of 5 for things to do in Roadtown.

In the town centre, the Botanic Gardens are a pleasant place to wander in the shade. The gardens are well maintained and offer an interesting collection of tropical plants. The recommended route takes about an hour to follow, but of course, if you have time to spare, you can linger for longer!
