as we were staying on that side of the island in Conch Club Condo we kayaked across it the island which took about 15 minutes. Worth a visit.

Getting to Owen island requires brute strength against wind and current which pushes against your kayak getting there- recommend speed boat or being accompanied by strong Olympic medal kayak person!! Let people know when you head there- do not go alone, the water is clear...More

current is hard to paddle out to the island, but a breeze to paddle back to the main island. Bring what you need, because no serrices are provided.

Bonefished with Chris Gough - VERY GOOD! Lots of turtle and stingray sightings a bonus. Did this as an alternative to diving.

It's a lot of fun to kayak or paddle board over to Owen Island. Great place for a picnic, swim or snorkel.

We kayaked over from the Southern Cross Club and explored the island for an afternoon. You can easily kayak around the entire island. Bring a picnic and make a day of it!

The only trace of human activity on this island is a sign that reads: Private Property, Visitors Welcome, Please Do Not Litter. We kayaked over with beers, sat in the white sandy water and enjoyed the tranquility!
