The Cayman Brac Museum, the oldest Museum in the Cayman Islands opened its doors to the public on December 3rd, 1983. Through the years our efforts have been focused on preserving the unique history of Cayman Brac & Little and creating informative exhibits. The Museum’s home is the Old Government Administration Building built in 1933 which housed the Post Office, Customs, Treasury and much more under one roof before it was replaced by a new building in 1983.

Small but moving

Loved this small but informative, personal Brac Museum. I enjoyed, and gives one a clearer idea of history, culture, etc..

The museum is a cute little place with lots of antiques and artifacts that islanders use. Gives lots of info on the storm of '32 so if you like to see a bit of history it's worth the stop. They accept donations as entrance

A very small but very interesting museum about the island and its people. Curator was very friendly. I enjoyed the history regarding the 1930s hurricane that came over the island. The will of the people to exist back then is incredible. A must see while visiting the island.

If you want to experience the culture of the island and understand how so many people have lived as well as flourished. They can share it all because they have recorded the voice of those who have passed away but told their stories helping preserve their history.

The museum is tiny, really only 3 rooms, but it shows all about the history on the island. There's 1 room solely dedicated to the hurricane in 1932 that ravaged the island, and the old government administration counters are still on display when you walk in. A nice way beat the heat and learn about the island. Plus admission is... More

Go here to discover the history of the Brac. The display for the '32 hurricane is particularly moving. Very friendly staff on duty.

This museum is small, but provides a lot of information on the history of Cayman Brac. The room dedicated to the 1932 hurricane was fascinating, keeping the attention of my 19 year old son. We had an even greater appreciation for the caves we visited later in the week.

The museum gives a good look at the history of the Brac and in particular its past hurricanes. One comes away with respect for the resilience of the people of this island.

This is an interesting little museum. But you need to read everything to get something out of it. The stories of the Hurricanes is remarkable.

This is the right place to learn about the history of the Cayman Islands. It was most interesting and enjoyable to look at all of the memorabilia and learn about the history of these people and what they have had to live through with a devastating hurricane in 1932 and how they have rallied as a people and nation.
