A massive fortress built by the British to protect the town and anchorage from the pesky French, pirates, and other undesirables (from the British perspective). Incredible achievement to have built a fortress this size in this location with 18th century technology. Imagine large numbers of...More

When visiting here take in the great views. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about this place, and proud of her history of the area. The ride to the top was very interesting with the narrow road, and blind curves. Once on top the expansive...More

We arrived in St Kitts in a cruise and rather than book the cruise excursions decided to go it alone. After walking round the centre of the capital we met the most amazing taxi driver called Kaiser who couldn’t do enough for us. He recommended...More

We took a tour up to the fortress on a shuttle bus. It is quite a ride up with really tight turns and squeezing through rock gates. The fortress itself is clean and well preserved, and has a lot interesting history available to read with...More

Worth the USD$10 admission fee and the extra USD$10 fee for the hand translation guide unit describing the features. Without the guide unit you wouldn't have known much of from what you saw. Unless you're with a tour group, you only need 1 hand unit...More

A great fort with fantastic views. Lots of information and a good place to stop during a tour. There are views from all around the fort.

Very nice site to visit - learned a lot about the island and enjoyed the views tremendously. We stopped here as part of a tour that included other stops on the island but had plenty of time to explore the fort and surrounding grounds.

We were lucky enough to visit when the cruise ship hordes were not over-running the island, so our visit may not be typical. That being said, this is a great place to see first hand the enormous resources that went into securing and maintaining trade...More

Pictures can't really depict the real beauty of this place. You have to be there to feel and see the whole view. I didn't have any high hopes when visiting but wow- the minute I went up, my jaw dropped! I've never been to a...More

I would either take an excursion or get off the ship and at the end of the pier get a tour or taxi. The sit is far end of island and way up a hill, mountain, so give yourself enough time to get back to the ship. I would... More
