A group of 10 of us had a guided hike. We kept a easy to moderate pace, and made it without too much struggle. It was a very clear day and incredibly beautiful all the way up. When you make it empty and fill your water bottle. The water from the "source" tastes amazing.

After reading several reviews about whether to take a guide or not I decided to give it a go without. My nephew (19) and I (40) started off in the morning and we are in average shape. The signs behind the Gingerland Police station point you in the right direction, but you've got to pay attention and look for them.... More

First, went online to see a few folks say that one does not need a guide on this hike. On what planet? Being in good shape and with my brother in law who is also a big hiker, we figured guide was optional. Wrong. Reggie, our guide, is awesome and instrumental in our success AND enjoyment in getting to the... More

We hiked with Gailey. He did a great job as a guide. I can see where some may want to save a few bucks and try to hike it alone, but I would recommend paying the fee for the guide. They know the trail inside and out and can add a lot of color to your hike. We had clouds... More

We started near Peak Haven (after ignoring warnings from both resort staff and our taxi driver not to do this without a guide). Coming up on the Peak Haven side, there's what looks like a trail heading straight up the mountain right before the Peak Haven parking lot. That's not the trail - ignore it, walk through the Peak Haven... More

This is a tough hike on steep, muddy trails with ropes to hold onto. Trails are easy to follow. Bring snacks and plenty of water. Do you need a guide? Locals and inexperienced hikers will tell you that you do. And, if you get a good guide, you will have someone to point out and tell you about the local... More

I was expecting a better view but we couldn't see through the mist. I think we were just there at the wrong time of the year. It is a good hike though. It gets steep in places and there are ropes to help pull yourself up. It gets really muddy so don't wear anything you can't live without.

I'm 26 and in relatively good shape but found the hike challenging. It was an amazing experience that I would definitely do again, but just go prepared with water and determination. It took us about 2 hours to get to the top, and there's a lot of mud on the way up.

An off road experience into the jungle on Nevis peak. Taken by an incredibly experienced and friendly guide, Kenneth, a native carribean, and search and rescue progressional, making everyone feel in safe hands. The hike took 4.5 hrs in total. Starting with 30 mins warm up hike, before the ascent up steep inclines, using tree roots and fixed ropes for... More

This hike was a tough one, not for a beginner hiker. We were told it typically takes 2.5 hours to make it to the top, but we managed in under 2. We had a guide and would only recommend going with one, as the "trail" is not marked. The beginning was an uphill trail but the second 60% or so... More
