Barrouallie is about an hour from the capital. My trip was just to visit family. It seemed a little tired and run down from my last visit.

On a recent sailing trip we stopped here for the night and dinner. It was a good meal with an interesting pair of hosts. Better than some restaurants we went to on other islands. I always enjoy St. Vincent in general. Its the ultimate off the beaten path destination that is fun to sail to!

Barrouallie has been a big whaling town and is famous for scripps, which are an aquired taste. That said the views from the highway are amazing.

Our driver Mr Fraser took us to the site of Pirates of the Caribbean but not without taking us through Barrouallie where he's from. Very nice area where you get a strong sense of brotherhood and community.

I am not used to narrow roads, but this one is impressive. The drivers expertly navigate their vehicles through the highway no matter how huge. Though rugged at some points, the view was breath-taking. If you are out for a lifetime experience, come to the Leeward side of the beautiful Island of St. Vincent.

Barrouallie is reached along the Leeward Highway, the drive is spectacular cliff top views, hidden bays, flora and fauna, Barrouallie itself is a small village with all the facilities you would expect.
