This popular beach spot fulfills the fantasy of the ideal Caribbean beach, but is just as famous for the scenic rainforest drive that must be made to reach it.

Beautiful but busy! There are more beautiful beaches that are less busy during this time! The waves were a bit rough, but the food is amazing! Lots of places to eat!!!!! Pretty cheap to rent umbrellas and chairs too!

I agree the water looks pretty but I think it's way overrated. I would more venture into the north coast for the food.

There was a lot of construction to improve the road near Maracas Bay beach. This made traveling in this area slow as we headed for another nearby beach – TYRICO

Be careful when bathing with small children. The waves are high food available to much traffic upon leaving because there is only one exit. Personally I prefer the east coast beaches.

It’s about 45 minutes from Port of Spain and worth a trip. Nice beach. Great food. Shark n Bale was very good. However the sharks are now getting overfished so order kingfish n bake. They taste the same. The sauces and condiments and the bread...More

We did a tour of Port of Spain as a cruise ship excursion. It's a bit of a drive to get to Maracas Beach, but I'd say it's the highlight of the tour. Our stop was only about 30 minutes, but that was enough on...More

Great scenic drive over the mountains and several lookouts. Don't forget to try the local cuisine of Bake & Shark a must for all. Parking will be tough on weekend unless if you get there early.

The road is very narrow for the 2 lanes and it has many twists and sharp turns. Would highly recommend to go with an experienced local (tour guide). They also drive on the opposite side as North America so that is something... More

It's not expensive, I would compare it to a motel from about 40 years ago. Bare bones. But it's right on the beach basically. You just cross the street. But it is run down. I stayed at the Hilton in POS and that was 3 stars... More
