Not much to see here

Walked over the square but there isn't much to see there. Just a square with a bunch of streets and a lot of cars :)

My family visited on Independence day. A beautiful sea of red, white and black, littered the streets. As the patriotism was at its highest we stroll through Independence Square, which is the same as Brian Lara Promenade. Such a beautiful place to be....

Just an everyday square with a large KFC on the corner, lots of traffic, and busy with people getting about their business. Nothing to write home about. It does have a local, downtown atmosphere but generally unattractive.

Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the city. Interestingly enough I also noticed the friendly nods of hello from passerbys.

Visitors to Trinidad must end up on the Brian Lara Promenade. It runs from the gorgeously restored Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the East to the Fast Ferry Terminal after the traffic lights to the West. It has greenery, art, peaceful vistas in the West, and buzzes with activity in the East. It is chaotic at times, for it... More

It is basically a round about where people can sit or relax if they are in Port of Spain and shopping. There is a lot of people and traffic usually but it is a good place to just sit.

A good lime with friends just taking in the scenes and watching as people go by. You can even get involved in a game of drafts.

Great to see a bustling capital in a small island and to see how developed Trinidad is. Good place for bargains. The truth is...peace of mind is lacking knowing there have been alot of robberies, petty thefts. It's also a shame the homeless people are scattered everywhere and the smell of urine fills the air.

Being here will tell you a lot about trinidad but i won't call it an attraction. Is a hot spot of life and traffic that will let you realize that trinidad is a country built on foreigners investments, from the amount of banks. That is very unhealthy, you are surrounded from any fast food you know. The nice boardwalk with... More

Caribbean style hustle and bustle. For the adventurous visitor not easily intimidated. The east side has the historic RC cathedral which is worth a visit but is also adjacent to a somewhat lower income area of the city. Average Trinidadian workers on the go to and from work but be aware of the occasional vagrant looking for a handout. Leads... More
