Store Bay is like a one stop shop. it is much more than a beach. it is a complex where local arts, crafts, foods, delicacies and tickets for upcoming events and boats to the Buccoo Reef are available. The beach is very clean, safe and beautiful. Everything you need to enjoy the beach is available at Store Bay. Booths selling beautiful, colourful beachwear, local crafts and even hair braiding open at 10.00a.m.
There are clean facilities to wash the sand off your feet and washrooms. The carpark is huge and in good condition.

Very nice clean beach. Not very long. Clear water and fine sand. Lots of local shops. Food and drinks available. 2 chairs and an umbrella were only $15 US

Nice beach, nothing special. The facilities near the beach were great. The washroom with toilet costs 2TT per visit or 5TT per day. The beds and umbrellas at the beach are expensive if you don't bargain. The tide came really high during our visit so we had to leave the beach around 1.30p.m. so before buing any sunbeds look around to see if you can stay on the beach for a while or not. The waves were so high that swimming was forbidden for children. We spend the day before at Pidgeon Point and that was a better beach!

It's usually a calm beach. But when I went it was high tide so the beach was rougher than usual so I did not get to swim that much.

Lovely beach, calm waters for swimming, but be mindful of the sunbed men trying to overcharge you. And also be mindful of the men who hang around at the top of the stairs, can often give ladies unwanted attention.

Store Bay is the most amazing beach during Summertime especially. The water is crystal clear, calm and warm and there's lots of beach for the kids to run around or to just relax with a book

Nice local beach with good swimwater, facilities and food, sun beds for rent. Two lifeguards tower so they got an eye on you. Children can play and swim with caution from a adult.

It was sprinkling when we were in the area so maybe that was the issue. The shops are okay, but most everyone had the same stuff to sell. The beach was okay but Pigeon Point and the beaches further away are much nicer. If you are staying in Crown Point, I can see why you would come, but if you ar win Tobago, going further east like Castara, Englishman's Bay or Parlatuvier are much better beaches and villages.

Lots of souvenir stalls here, which is great, because most of the other beaches (other than Pigeon Point) have nothing but sandy paradise. There were plenty of chair rentals, and even a restaurant and bar. Not as many activities like Pigeon Point, but as far as beach going, this is it.

It’s very quiet at Store Bay currently (and Tobago generally) unless a cruise ship is in at Pigeon Point (worth checking schedules / asking locals).
Strangely Tobago is gong against the global tourism grain in that it has just 20% of the tourists per annum than compared to 10years who!
That means it is very unspoilt but also means tourism infrastructure and professionalism is missing a little....

We are staying at the Starfish Resort, and wondering about taking a taxi to Store Bay for the day. Are taxis readily available?

Unfortunately we did not rent chairs or umbrellas at Store Bay. Local food is between 8-10US per order but we found portions really big. We usually buy one entree, indulge in fresh coconut water and ice cream. (Shared the entree with hubby but not the ice cream). In local establishment/bars it’s like being in US drinks starts $8 and entree $12 and above.

Hey Janet,
my advice is to use the google map app; it gives you the cost according to uber and what not. change your cash at a cambio/bank. the locals would be willing to change it for you also most of the times.

I think the cruise ships come in very close, not absolutely sure as there were none in port this time when we were there
are there any bars or restaurants within walking distance?

When you are at the entrance/exit to Store Bay facing the road from Store Bay entrance, the left (heading to the junction that will take you Pigeon Point or Scarborough) there are lots of places to eat situated on your left and right side of the road (bars as well).
If it's just a small bite to eat (nothing too fancy), SKEWERS is recommended.
On the right (Store Bay Entrance/Exit side), walk to where there's a mini-mart called TRIM's (you can't miss it, right on the corner, Old Store Bay Road), if you continue down that road, on your right you will come to Kariwak, there's a resturant there that has excellent food.
If you have an insulated cooler bag, I suggest you head by TRIM's and get some drinks and ice, head back to the beach and just chill with a beer in hand (don't pay higher price at Store Bay and don't even bother with the Crab and Dumplings there, it's not worth it anymore, the standards have completely dropped, you can find better food outside.)
I have some reviews posted on Tobago, take a look and feel free to message me, I'll assist wherever possible.
Hi Candace!
Thanks so much for the informative review, i was curious....how much are the chair rentals approximate daily?

It's been awhile since I've rented beach chairs and umbrella from store bay or pigeon point, but the price are significantly higher than the answer that you were given.
As a safety, they would not go pass $50.00TTD.
Store Bay prices will always be lower than Pigeon Point.
