Stuck in the pouring rain, mid pandemic, with no option of anywhere to eat in Scarborough, we drove into the hills and trusted in the Universe. And so it was we stumbled on Eden's Door. Dr. Jennifer, a true host, although closed that day, opened her doors and her kitchen to us, and gave us the best meal of our entire stay in Tobago, made all the more enchanting because we helped to prepare it. We simply cannot speak highly enough of this amazing woman and her incredible property. Enchanting conversation, healthy, fresh and delicious food. A true tourism gem. It's hard to believe you're just 10 minutes from Scarborough. Unmissable!

Jennifer's warmest greeting at Eden's door geared us up for a lovely trek through her locally themed trails on her fabulous estate. Our group was totally refreshed and relaxed during and after our walk.

Visit Eden's door to experience a lovely evening of hiking, local flavor and culture as you can chat with the unique and welcoming Jennifer, tour her property and learn about organic farming efforts on the island of Tobago. Then, stay for dinner while she prepares a delicious homecooked meal with ingredients either right from her garden or locally sourced. I had a wonderful time, and I would highly recommend this unique experience.

Dear Dan, Thanks for this warm review from a world traveler seeking a cultural experience in Tobago. You brought so much to Eden's Door through your reflective conversations. I loved your description of the "Crepuscular Hike," a gift we embrace as we continue to re-tell the narrative of Eden's Door. With much appreciation, Jennifer

Eden’s Door is the perfect escape from a hectic lifestyle. Enjoy hiking trails, organic gardens, farm-to-table cooking, and a lovely setting nestled in the hills and forest of Tobago. Jennifer Bailey, proprietor, oversees a personalized experience with attention to detail and guided tours of the scenic property. Excellent meals (dinner and breakfast) are the best way to sample the fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown at Eden’s Door. I found my stay not only restorative and therapeutic, but also an education in the flora and fauna of Tobago. Thanks to Jennifer Bailey, I left with a deeper understanding of life in Tobago and the benefits of living closer to nature on a beautiful island.

I did not know what to expect when we visited two nights ago. I heard nature trail, I heard picnic, I saw a gorgeous full moon overhead. Nothing prepared me for what I found at Eden’s Door.
Tobago is…. Cool clean green and serene. Eden’s Door is island style glamping. The two are a perfect match. And Jennifer Bailey is a delightful hostess, the dreamer whose vision, charm and drive made Eden’s Door real. She combined experience as flight attendant, broadcaster, advertising exec and development specialist to reactivate the Bailey family’s estate in the modern era.
At Eden’s Door her welcome is warm and sincere, the location is easy to access on the road between Plymouth and Scarborough, the trails and activities are well laid out ( yes, fitness is required!) the gardens a fascinating array of grasses, herbs, fruit and various tropical plants. Jennifer personally leads you on the trail with full explanations of all that you encounter. Superb.
Before.. Or after… the trail walk which was absolutely beautiful that moonlit night, we relaxed under the Rest House. There Jennifer transformed her garden’s organic fruit, herbs and vegetables into delicious platters of grilled green tomatoes, boc boc fritters (we missed out on the aubergine (melongene) souffle) and more.
Our picnic then turned into a great Tobago “lime “. We sat there with other guests, relaxing, whiling away the hours over food and red wine (we brought) while Jennifer held court regaling us with stories about Corporal Bailey. The full moon above was just magical, and the night trek under moonlight was a very special treat.
At Eden’s Door where glamping meets island warmth you create unique Tobago memories . Don’t miss out!

Having wanted to visit Edens Door for a while, a full moon dinner and hike seemed like a lovely time to go. From our arrival to our departure (several hours later) our host Jennifer regaled us with the history of the property, the stories of how she developed this piece of forest into an organic farm, complete with hiking trails, cabins, and a beautifully appointed rest area and her plans for future development.
While I was in awe of the details in the food, especially the dressings and sauces all made with garden fresh herbs and fruit, the hike was the highlight of the evening for me. The views, the perfectly cool, clear evening under a bright moon and the slightly challenging walk along the perimeter of the property were the ideal lead up to the wonderful meal around a beautifully set table. The friends I went with, the new friends I made and our lovely hostess sat around the table for a couple of hours chatting and enjoying each others company.
The evening was invigorating and relaxing and really enjoyable, I cant wait to go back and see Edens Door by day!
