We had a wet meeting with the waterfalls. It was raining like **** and the water at the waterfall was brown and muddy. The path to the falls was easy in the beginning but the end was really hard with slippery rocks.
The falls were beatiful so you have to see them!

A taxi driver, Mr. Mervyn McKnight took us to the falls. If you need a good taxi driver when you visit Tobago I would strongly recommend him. The gentleman was quite friendly, knowledgeable about Tobago’s history and very helpful. This was our third visit to the falls. We paid 50TT dollars entrance fee per person and this included a tour guide. Ask for Lennon Moore when you visit, he is an excellent and experienced tour guide. Rain had fallen that morning so the trail was a bit muddy, he assisted my friend on the trail and even helped her to clean mud off her shoes when we came back. They are also in the process of building a water park on the compound. The Fall is very beautiful and serene and it is worth a visit!

What an incredible experience our hike to the Argyle Waterfall was. My family party of 3, a tropical rainforest location and swimming in our own personal slice of heaven. We couldn´t believe our luck when we embarked on the trek to the waterfall, there was no-one but us and the stunning nature surrounding our little party of 3. As we approached the waterfall and realised it was just us, the lush vegetation and tropical birds we were overcome with the sheer priviledge of the experience. Go early as you can and you too may experience this perfect spot in isolation as we did.

The Argyle Waterfall is very beautiful. There is a short trail that is well kept and safe for children, leading to the beautiful falls. It is about 15 to 20 minutes walk depending on your speed. A $50 TTD entrance fee for locals and $60 TTD for foreigners is required. They have toilet facilities but no shower or changing facilities. There is also a Bar where you an get cold drinks and snacks. There are beautiful cotton trees, cocoa and poui trees along the way that creates a shady cool path to walk. There are three levels to reach the top of the Falls. Each level has a very beautiful pool surrounded by rocks. Children must be supervised as the pools goes from a small shallow end to a deep 18 ft pool. (this is just the first pool). The others are very similar. The clear cut safe trail for kids is up to the first pool. The trail to the other two levels require upper body strength to use the ropes to get up certain areas. Also a shoe with good grip is also required since it is a climb uphill and there are a lot of bamboo leaves which can cause one to slip very easily. the trail to the second level, is easy to hike up. The third level is not to bad but a bit more slippery but once you reach the top the view is beautiful and everything below looks so tiny. It is a nice trail for adventurers.

Argyle Falls is a lovely little nature trail, that leads to the first level of the falls and a lovely 18 foot deep swimming lagoon. You pay a very reasonable 60 TT per person to enter. There are washrooms and a snack bar. As part of your entry fee, you are assigned a lovely guide. In our case it was Lenin who is a very well informed person, knowledgeable about the local plants and how they can be used as herbal remedies.

Lenin walked us to the falls, and then we let him know we were going to swim and hang out for a couple of hours, and it was ok with us if he wanted to get back to guide the next set of clients. The trail is very easy to follow so you cannot get lost going back. However, having a guide is well worth it, because you learn about the local plants. Please tip your guide well. It has been a tough time being in tourism during Covid.

We swam, ate some snacks and had a great time. We could have walked up to the next level of the falls and the one after that, on a steep trail with a hand rope but we were too chicken!

Once we left, we got a good lunch from a little grilled burger and chicken place up the road.

There are a couple bad reviews of these falls, but it is clear the people writing them drove their cars to the top of the falls and were disappointed. The swimming area and the biggest falls are at the bottom and you must walk, you cannot drive.

The Argyle waterfall is accessible after a 65 minute drive from Crown Point. After parking and payment, the washrooms, snack bar can be accessed. Afters short 20 minute walk along the well maintained trail, the waterfall can be viewed.

If you wish to access the higher levels, the trail is accessible from the right of the falls. This moderate intensity hike of approximately 20- 30minutes duration.

Certainly a natural treasure!

We wouldn’t consider it a must-do, but the hike and the waterfall are both lovely and if you are in the area, it’d be worth checking out. You do have to pay to park at the entrance and it does close around sundown, so make sure you go during the day.

As a Trinidadian who has visited Tobago too many times to recount, this was my first time visiting the Argyle falls and it certainly was a refreshing experience. Admittedly I've had many a conversation where I have adamantly stated "I'm fed up of Tobago" lol but due to this Covid-19 restrictions is was my only opportunity to board a plane and "getaway". The goal was to go places I had never been before and certainly I did, during my short trip I never once set foot in Store Bay or any of the usual tourist spots.
Instead I visited this beautiful waterfall, and although it did rain earlier and the operators told us the water visibility was not good my friends and I truly enjoyed the short hike. As much as we did not need a tour guide, we opted to take one and he was the sweetest gentleman. Sharing knowledge along the trail, he pointed out trees and birds (like the Motmot) and just generally had a nice personality.
When we got to the main pool of the waterfall it was at least 18ft deep so no one was wiling to venture in but, our guide showed us the track to get up the higher levels (this of course is at your own risk). One of my friends and I decided to make the trek up, which was not that difficult (thankfully when we called ahead we are advised to wear proper footwear - so sneakers are recommended if you want to go higher!). As we made our way up, we were surprised to see our guide following us up, he decided to make sure we stayed on the right track. We got to the first waterfall level and walked under the cascade of water it was so refreshing and I felt relaxed and stress-free!
On our way down our guide made sure we were safe, guiding us on where to place our feet and how to hold on etc and overall a perfect experience.

Recommendations:
1. I definitely recommend this visit, and while it is doable on your own, if it's your first time take a guide.
2. Once physically able, hike up to the other levels (that feeling of cool water beating on you is better than any spa massage)
3. If you just want to find peace and relax this is the PERFECT atmosphere, surrounded by only nature.

A 20 minute easy hike to the waterfalls. I suggest you go in sneakers with good grip and with the Waterfall tour guide (Tony). If you are adventureous, you can hike further up the falls but advise that you do that in groups with more than 5 persons. Very peaceful and serene.
