This was a really fun hike! I've been to St. John before, but I had never done this hike before, and I really enjoyed it. The views all along the trail are very cool! To get there, park at Salt Pond and walk down to the beach. Keep going along the beach and the Ram's Head Trail picks up at... More

We had a few rainy days and decided to do this trail since the days were cooler and overcast. I can see that this trail would be very hot in the mid day typically. Take lots of water and sunscreen. If you are scared of heights don't get near the edge at the top. Incredible views. Should be a great... More

Easy hiking. Would be great for a sunset. Rocky path with lots to see. We were a group of six, ages 70 to five and we all like this the best of several, hikes we took, including the hike to the petroglyphs.

Popular hike on the East End of the Island. Path leads from Salt Pond beach. Approx. 1 mile in length took us, in good shape, one hour to the top. Great views up there of the Pond and Concordia. Hike was not too strenuous and the reward was terrific. Back down the trail to a nice dip at the beach.... More

Takes about an hour to hike out from Salt Pond Bay. First 1/3 of the trail is shady, then is hilly and hot, but gorgeous!

This trail is exposed to the sun, so make sure you hike it in the morning rather than in the afternoon. It is about two miles round trip, with mild elevations that provide great views. According to a legend I read, if one makes a wish and throws a rock from the overlook into the ocean (without hitting rock ledges)... More

Two teens, hubby and I hiked many StJohn trails over the holidays. By far our favorite trail was Rams Head trial accessed from Salt Pond beach (where we left grandma under a shade tree to enjoy the lovely vista). Easy hike 90' round trip to stunning vistas and cool breezes. Wear hiking shoes or decent threaded shoes not flip flops... More

I have done this hike a few times and it is just beautiful! It is HOT and you need to take water. You climb a lot in elevation, but the views along the way are just gorgeous! Stop at Blue Cobblestone beach and enjoy the waves making music on the rocks and cool off. The barrel (?)cacti up at the... More

We decided to hike the Ram Head trail before snorkeling. It's an interesting trail that takes you by a small rock beach cove and then out to the point (Ram Head) I would recommend closed toe shoes, and plenty of water. It's not a hard hike, but there are some elevation changes
