I just rented a 2-person kayak and roof carrier from Arthur for two weeks to do marine biology research. Excellent service and price but did not do any fishing

Hi, my husband and I are pretty good kayakers ( flat water). Is it possible to just rent kayaks? After an orientation, we would like to do some exploring on our own.

It is completely possible to just rent a kayak (and carrier if you need one) and explore on your own without a guide. Just get a map and ideally a GPS so you can easily find your way back to the put-in. In the mangroves it... More

My wife and I are going to St. John next week and I am trying to decide between the Hurricane Hole tour and the full day kayak tour on the north shore. Does anyone have any thoughts?

The main difference between the two trips is that the North Shore trip is more strenuous and the Hurricane Hole trip is easier. If you've never kayaked before, I recommend the Hurricane Hole trip. It takes place in calmer... More
