For just $7 each way this ride is great. It was faster than I expected and I did not have a long wait to get on or off of it. It was perfect. They have a bar in the terminal too that you can enjoy while you wait to board.

The ticket attendants are very grumpy, no smiles or welcome-and as a first face to the ferry this is unfortunate! But things do get better, the ferry operators are better and it is a good, fairly priced ride between islands. The porters are indepent and that is apparant with their push to take care of your baggage. Not necessary a... More

We literally sat in the first row and waited over an hour for our ferry from Red Hook to St. John, The music was blasting so loud that we missed our ferry along with several other people. The attendant claimed that she announced it but we did not hear it. We did hear her announcing one to the BVI. Two... More

Make this your only choice. Seats on the upper deck offer a great view. Porters available to take your luggage with only a tip. There's a bit of a delay getting your bags at your destination. Because the Red Hook docks are far from town and the airport, you'll need to allow a full hour to go in either destination.... More

The ferry runs every hour and is the one thing around that isn't on "island time." Thatis they actually run every hour. There are always taxis ready at each end when you arrive. It's quite convenient. No eating allowed on the ferry though.

This ferry runs every hr. & on time. Most of the people are very nice, but don't let the few that arn't bother you. It's a very short ride to the best Island in the USVI.

I actually enjoy the Charlotte Amalie ferry better as it is longer, but my travel mates get motion sickness. The Red Hook is every hour, and that makes it more convenient as well.

Unlike other car ferries I've ridden, here one backs one's car into place in rows up on deck. The boat then backs away from the pier and heads out. Everyone drives off helter skelter all at once at the other end. Most people stay in their car, but you can climb up to an observation deck if you like wind... More

Took the ferry back and forth from St. Thomas to St. John. Runs on time, well-run, clean. The ride is only about 20 minutes or so. Just enough time to take in the views. Don't bother to try and find anything cheaper. I think it was $14 per person or about that amount.
