The good news: this world-class stretch of white sand and turquoise water is St. John's most photographed beach, which features a marked underwater trail for beginning snorkelers. The bad news: because of its popularity, it can get very crowded with cruise ship passengers and members of sightseeing tours.

Trunk bay is a great spot for new snorkels to get used to the activity. Lots of tourists-unfortunately many acting like the worst sort - but a great place for day one with a mask and snorkle. One day is enough then off to the...More

Very beautiful beach. Crystal clear, blue water and white sand. Try to go either after 4:00 or on Sunday to avoid the cruise ships. I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a secluded beach but it didn't feel crowded to me.

Great location to enjoy the sun with nice sand and lots of rocks to snorkel around. We saw a stingray at this location.

This was one of my favorite places to visit on our honeymoon. The snorkeling was ok, but the views made up for it!

The 20 minutes ferry ride from St. Thomas to St. Johns was pleasant. The ride to Trunk Bay was breath taking. The white sands felt moist and soft between my toes. The water was warm with such clarity...You can see the fishes swimming below. The...More

I would say Cruz Bay. Almost all the bars and restaurants are open at Mongoose Junction as well as the ones that line the street. Longboard, Margarita Phil's, Cruz Bay Landing.
