Downtown Nassau was pretty nice. Despite suggestions that Nassau was dangerous, it is no more so than any business district in any American, Canadian, or European city. Businesses want tourist money, and the area is geared towards foreigners. There is a very strong police presence,...More

Nothing to see there....a statue of one of the early leaders, trees, and people waiting on buses and rides...a native place nothing really touristy about it....

We used Rawson Square primarily as a thoroughfare from Woodes Rogers Walk and Prince George Wharf where all the cruise ships dock in Nassau, and Bay Street with it's many shops and restaurants, and Parliament Square (the historical/Government section), which is pretty much directly across...More

Nice little shaded area away from the hustle and bustle of Bay Street. We grabbed some drinks, and stopped here to relax and cool off. Pretty much the only place where no one is trying to sell you something or braid your hair.

An obvious place to stroll through as one walks towards Parliament Square. There is green planting that provides shade and plenty of green coloured wooden bench seating, which is ideal for taking a break. The Churchill building is named for Winston Churchill and there is...More

I was not expecting much. So, I was not disappointed. This was the start of our two hour walking tour in Nassau. We took a picture with Sir Milo Butler and moved on.

We visited on December 11th. The bleachers were already up in preparation for the Junkanoo parades. Enjoyed smelling all of the blooms on every tree and bush. Such a pretty sight.

I wasn't impressed with downtown: too many tacky stores. But this area is very nice. It's well preserved, colonial style and can give you a real perspective of Nassau. Definitely I would recommend it if you want to avoid the tourist traps.

everything happen in Rawson Square, during the holidays is the place you want to be to watch junkanoo, the government has nice buildings to run the country business and the pivotal center of Nassau.
