We walked up to the fort from the cruise boat. The fort is very small. An interesting part of the history of Nassau. It dates back to the days of pirates and conflicts in the Caribbean. They charge $1.08 to enter. There are guides, if you wish to tip them. We walked around alone and saw all we needed. There... More

If you're visiting Nassau take the walk to visit this area. You'll get to see amazing views from some high points in the city. If you are unable to walk stairs this will be hard for you to do. It cost $1.08 per person to visit and there are guides that will give history and answer questions. You can tip... More

This is a fort that is at the top of the queens staircase. It is poorly maintained with minimal signage explaining the significance of the fort. There is a "guide" there that will give you 5 minute overview of the Fort and then ask for tip. Feel free to skip this.

We were brought here by our wonderful tour guide, Marvin! The fort was erected in 1793, and named after British captain Lord Dunmore, who had it built to protect Nassau Harbour and watch for encroaching pirates. There is a small entrance fee and the fort offers nice views of Paradise Island, Downtown Nassau, and the cruise ships that are in... More

Great views of Nassau. Typical tour stop attraction. Not too much to read or see, 15-20 minute stop.

The viewing deck gives you a must see veiw of the island from above. The castle isn't much to see but it was $1.08 a person and came with a short history lesson. The children enjoyed seeing the cannons.

Nothing special, but if you are walking the Queen's Staircase, you might as well walk through and take a couple pictures.

Enjoyed the quick 12 minute walk from the port to Fort Fincastle. There was a person giving historical information on site and it only cost $1 each to get in. Nice views and a history lesson to go with it! only a hundred or so yards from the Queens Staircase also.

We took a walking tour of Nassau on our port day, 3 hours. Cost $1 per person. We visited the Library/former jail, Nassau historical museum, Parliament square, Queen's Staircase, Fort Fincastle, Trinity Church, Balcony House, Christ Church Cathedral, Hilton Hotel lobby and beach, Pompey Square. Pompey museum was closed Thursday afternoon. Pirate Museum had a charge and looked a little... More
