WE ARE NO LONGER OFFERING TOURS. The only castle on the island of Grand Bahama and the home of local businessman Havard Cooper. A rags to riches story is the life of Mr. Havard Cooper. Come and tour the grounds of Cooper's Castle and experience the inspirational journey of how Mr. Cooper grew from a young boy with one pair of pants to living in a castle. The castle is located on the highest point in Grand Bahama on 46 acres of prime Grand Bahama land. Cooper's Castle is the only Castle on Grand Bahama and is certainly a sight to see. From this location, you can view indigenous settlements on the island, capture a view of the hotels and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. It is truly an amazing sight to see and story to hear.

Now doing tours

We always drive by just to admire this castle but we just found out they are now doing tours. Unfortunately we were not there long enough to work it in our schedule.

Sure would be nicer if you cold get closer to this place, but I do understand it's someone's home. I believe he's the owner of several restaurants on the island and built this place for his wife. Must be cool inside.

How can you give a castle a miss? Very interesting to hear about Mr. Cooper's life and his life of faith. Inspiring!

Waste of money! Tour was around the YARD showing you trees(mango, seagrapes, coco plum etc..) and also some fishes in a small pond! Then went through the front door and saw a glimse of the front room and and stairs. It was NOT what was expected!!

Before arriving in Freeport, reserve a tour of Cooper's Castle by contacting them either through their website or via Trip Advisor. Unfortunately the Cooper's do not have a tour bus/taxi to pick you up so make sure that you hire a taxi service to take you directly to the Castle. We were told at the taxi stand that we would... We only visited from the road and took pictures, but the story behind the castle is so heartfelt and interesting. It is worth pulling off the road for.
