Affable owners Patie (Chef) & Dean (Bartender) are a pleasure to be around. If you are an easy going person that enjoys the simple things in life, you will love Dean & Patie's little slice of paradise with one of the best waterfront views you'll ever see, a place where seafood comes right out of the water to your plate after Patty does her magic in her "She Shack." While waiting for your food to be prepared, you can enjoy a beer or drink with Dean while treating your eyes to the view. If you are looking for some fancy dining, this isn't your place! Da Pink Chicken is a simple place where you can enjoy good fresh food and a drink with good company. You can literally watch Patie remove your conch from the water, work her magic for your prep request, and set it on a plate in front of you. Do you know anywhere else you can see that kind of service?

Quaint, friendly, informal bar and eatery at the end of a dirt road you might not think to travel, but you would be missing one of the very best spots on Cat Island. You will enjoy friendly owners Dean and Patie, along with a raft of locals and visitors from all walks of life. You will not go wrong with an afternoon of sipping Dean's "Rum Punch" and a plate of Patie's "Cracked Conch" which is some of the best on the island. How many places can you order your meal and watch it lifted fresh from crystal waters of the Bahamas, cleaned, and cooked right before your eyes. If you are planning a trip to Cat, don't miss Da Pink Chicken! Be sure to check hours of business before you go.

Great island bar ran by Dean and Patie, not open everyday, Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Its a great mix of locals and tourists. Dean is very welcoming and has lived on island for 20 plus years so knows a lot about island, Patie cooks up some great food. I think it used to be a storehouse or similar in a previous life, it has its own rustic charm which I love, the view at the back is beautiful. Great meeting place, not easy to find first time follow pink signs.

Went to the Pink Chicken Sunday afternoon. Dean made his usual good drinks. Patty made the most awesome sautéed conch I’ve ever had! And perfect potato salad, corn with jalapeños, and cole slaw! Truly excellent. (And a great little beach, too.) Patty will show you how to clean a conch if she’s not too busy. Well worth a bumpy ride down a lumpy road. Cool place to hang for the afternoon!

I loved visiting Da Pink Chicken. It's a long road down but the drive is worth it. If you're looking for a good vibe, family feel, great beach and view... and even a cold beer or rum punch at the bar, this is it! The owner takes care of the bar and his wife makes what she wants every day and that's the menu. Only a few people there and a great stop after a day of kiteboarding at the Greenwood resort!

Thank you Dean and Patty for your hospitality during our visits to Da Pink Chicken. We’ve hand cracked conch over the years but nothing compares to the way Patty makes it! Thank you for the best meals and best food/drink prices during our trip!

Stopped by for a quick drink, as part of a day trip driving round the island & so glad we did.
Patti & Dean were very friendly and had lots of stories to tell.
The setting was amazing. Despite the day being overcast, the crystal clear blue water was a sight to behold. There were fish swimming around the small jetty where the fresh conch were hanging.
Be sure to visit if you’re on the island.

Patie and Dean still making folks feel right at home in their unpretentious but welcoming establishment in Springfield Bay. Patie fishes the conch out of the water, extracts them from the shell, cleans them, pounds them into submission of tenderness, and fries them up for presentation on the plate, while Dean holds court behind the bar. The conch were excellent, served with homemade fries and pasta salad which included green peas, carrots and onion. The conch salad was also excellent and a refreshing dish. Depending on where you are claiming residence on the island, this place can be a bit of a trip, but worth it for the good food and friendly hospitality. Warning: the atmosphere will tend to increase alcohol intake, so take this into consideration for your return trip.

Its a definite must go on Cat Island. Cold beer and conch salad on the menu, and good people. The view is great but the rules state there is strictly "no fishing from the bar"

The best freshly made food around. Today we had cracked conch and conch salad. They pull the conch right out of the water for your meal.
Delicious, friendly, no fancy drinks but cold beer, liquor and sodas.
Must stop by!
